I often receive calls from frantic couples trying to book Oahu DJ services just weeks or sometimes on the day of their wedding due to a cancellation or bait & switch from an unprofessional DJ company. Why does this always happen? Many Oahu DJs who claim to be professionals are really just part time amateurs trying to make side money or they are really booking agents trying to book as many jobs as possible without a caring about their couples special day.
By asking the right questions, you should be able to determine if you are dealing with a reputable Hawaii DJ company & individual DJ.
Why is having a full time Honolulu DJ important? The bottom line is that a part-timer will not be anywhere near as reliable, reputable, or talented as most full time DJs. What happens if the part-timer gets called into work on your wedding day? You can bet that they will be far more dedicated to their full time job than their side DJ job. Chances are your photographer, caterer, & florist will all be full time wedding professionals so shouldn’t your DJ also be a full time wedding professional?
Why are many production type Honolulu DJ companies risky? You often will not be told who the DJ will be or the DJ that is initially committed for your event is often replaced with a subcontracted or less experienced DJ. These type of companies are notorious for bait and switch & use DJs that lack the skills to properly handle a wedding reception.
To fully enjoy your day make sure you are completely confident & comfortable with the individual DJ not just the company. At first glance, it may be hard to see who are the truly professional DJs. Ask the right questions & ask other wedding professionals about the DJs you are considering & you will be on the right track to finding a professional DJ that will care about all aspects of your day.
