We all know that moving to a new place, be it a new home or a new office, is not that simple. One of the most important things you'll be having to do is pack your things. Unless you can handle disorganization and having to look for your own things once you've settled in your new place, you'll surely want to stretch your packing know-how a little bit. If you don't want to deal with unpacking woes which can be very annoying, pack your things in an organized manner. Packing the wrong way can consume too much time when you're trying to find something you need urgently, or when you want to unpack your things once you've settled. Whatever it is, there are three most important packing basics you should take note of.
First, separate those which you'll be needing to use more urgentlyfrom those you'll be needing at a later time For example, do not pack your toiletries together with your chinaware. Some people can be so disorganized and maybe even disoriented that they would pack things they're likely to use the moment they arrive in their destination with those that will have to wait in their boxes for a time before they can be unpacked. Make sure you put them in a certain container that will be easy for you to search to avoid having to dig through bags or boxes or not knowing at all where to find those essential items you'll be needing the most.
Also, you may want to label your things. You may have packed things in an organized manner, but unless you know what went into which boxes, you still will have a hard time locating your stuff. Though you may have put all your kitchenware in one box, if you don't know which one that is among the other boxes you have, that's still going to be a problem. Putting labels in your packages shouldn't be that hard. Put a tape where you can write down the appropriate label with a marker. Avoid using paper or write on the box itself because the ink could fade if, in case, your box happens to get wet at any point during the transit. See to it that you cover it with a clear tape to make the ink stay if you must use paper.
Third, consider when packing your things is safety. Chinaware or electronic equipment must be packed appropriately. The same is true with other sensitive and fragile items. Make sure that you cover every single piece of your chinaware in bubble wrap to keep them from breaking. Be sure to pack your electronic equipment individually or or as instructed by manufacturers. Often, you'll have to use antistatic packing bubble wrap or popcorn or any other material that does not conduct electricity in order to prevent damage during handling. Apart from the manner of wrapping, you should also make sure that your package is sealed in using the most durable packing tape. Make sure your boxes and other containers are also durable enough to handle handling.
