South Africa is a substantial and varied nation appealing to people from all over the world. There is a great deal to see and achieve in this astonishing place, it is not possible to check out the whole place but naturally, there are some areas that a great number of travellers seek to take in as part of their vacation.

One of the best ways to see the scenery on your South Africa holidays is to take a drive down the famed Garden Route along the south eastern coast. Starting in Mossel Bay and finishing at Storms River, there at least 10 nature reserves along the Garden Route, which harbour an array of marine life and multi-coloured birds. Ensure you stop at Knysna along the way - a beautiful seaside town that is perfect for some fun, relaxation and fine food.

Le Quartier Francais is found in a stunning countryside setting where you'll dine in a garden room with large windows and cottage furniture. If you visit the Winelands on your South Africa holidays, make sure you stop at Le Quartier to sample a menu that combines French, Asian and South African flavours to create an array of delectable delights. Signature dishes include double baked beetroot with rocket soufflé, olive oil baked salmon trout and the unique grilled springbok lion.

The Swartberg mountains are a magnificent backdrop to the village of Prince Albert. Once considered almost impenetrable, there are now three major gateways - the Swartberg Pass, Meiringspoort and Seweweekspoort - linking the Great Karoo with the Little Karoo and the coast. Meiringspoort and the Swartberg Pass are almost on Prince Albert's doorstep, and with their awesome beauty and many opportunities for recreation, should be on every visitor's itinerary.

Just off the N1 motorway from Cape Town. Fantastic cheese made on site, goats to entertain children and fantastic wine. Have a look at their website for more information. Cheese platters at the Goatshed restaurant are fantastic. Also a deli and wine shop so a great place for a wonder around. Very welcoming to all visitors.

Another wonderful place is the Malay Quarter. This place has houses coloured red, blue, yellow, orange and what not! Cape Town's famous seafront - the V and A Waterfront is also famous not only for its scenic beauty but also for being a shopper's paradise. Very near Cape Town is Robben Island, the island where South Africa's first black president Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for more than 15 years. What is even more intriguing is that an ex-prisoner shows you the place describing his own "apartheid experiences".

Sun City as one of the South African Travel Attractions offers its guests entertainment, relaxation. multitude of attractions and activities. At Sun City, visitors enjoy a day trip at the Pilanesberg National Park. Here balloon safaris are traditional. Moreover, one can experience elephant back riding and quad biking.

Johannesburg is the largest city of South Africa. But apart from the "life" that you will find in any big city, it offers two interesting experiences. "Gold Reef City" is a tourist attraction that re-creates the world of miners who mined gold a century ago... You get to wear the uniforms they wore and descend down the very mines they worked in. And to top it, you can see a bar of gold being solidified from molten gold right in front of your eyes!
